Competition rules
Please read carefully before registering for Independence Day Competition 2026.
Eligibility
- Open to all school students (Classes 5–12).
- Junior Quiz is for Classes 5–8; Senior Quiz is for Classes 9–12.
- Each participant may register for multiple categories, but only one entry per email per category.
Categories & format
- Talk (Tamil / English): 5-minute solo speech on a given theme.
- Song (Tamil / English): Solo or group of up to 3 vocalists + 2 instrumentalists. 5 minutes max.
- Drama (Tamil / English): Solo or group of up to 5 members. 8 minutes max.
- Quiz (Junior / Senior): Written prelims + on-air final. Team of 2.
Schedule
- Competition runs 27 July – 5 August 2026.
- Morning slots: 10:00 – 12:40 (20-min slots).
- Afternoon slots: 14:30 – 20:00 (20-min slots).
- Quiz takes place only on 2 August 2026.
Registration & approval
- Fill the online registration form and pick an available slot.
- The registration goes to a Waiting queue for admin review.
- Once Approved, an entry pass with a QR code becomes downloadable from the Status page.
- Rejected entries include a reason and may re-register in a different slot/category.
On the day
- Arrive at the VITCR studio 15 minutes before your slot.
- Carry a printed or digital copy of your QR entry pass and your school ID.
- Slots are non-transferable. Late arrivals may forfeit the slot.
Content guidelines
- All content must be original or properly credited.
- No hate speech, political endorsements, or copyrighted material without permission.
- Judges' decisions are final.
