Competition rules

Please read carefully before registering for Independence Day Competitions 2026.

Rules & Regulations

  • Participants must submit a valid bonafide certificate from their school along with a copy of their school ID card for verification.
  • One student can compete in only one category.
  • Titles for performances should be chosen from the attached list.
  • All performances (except Talk) are group-based.
  • Film and album songs are not allowed; original or folk compositions are encouraged. Karaoke or Musical instruments are optional.
  • Costumes, makeup, and props will not be awarded any marks.
  • Time limit must be strictly followed: Talk 3–5 minutes, Song 3–5 minutes, Drama 3–8 minutes.
  • The syllabus for this competition is available as an E-booklet in the registration portal (Quiz questions will be asked from this e-booklet content).
  • Results will be announced after the completion of all the events.
  • Each category will have only First and Second prizes. All participants will get Certificates of Participation. Judges have the option to award special mention prizes.
  • Judges' decisions will be final and binding.
  • No spot registration will be allowed.
  • Last date to register: 24 July 2026.
  • Venue: VIT Community Radio Studio, Silver Jubilee Tower 804, VIT University.
  • Selected content will be aired from August 15, 2026 on VIT Community Radio 90.8 for a month and also streamed live via YouTube and Spotify.

Team composition

  • Talk: Maximum 3 participants per school.
  • Song: Up to 3 vocalists + 2 instrumentalists.
  • Drama: Group of 5 only (no individual entries).
  • Quiz: Team of 2 (compulsory).
